We love the Diet Dr Pete. I'm not sure if you tweaked the formula when you switched to the new bottles, but it does seem to taste better. We have actually quit adding cherry flavoring to it to improve the taste
new bottles are horrible
I've been a longtime SodaStream customer, but the new flavor bottles are a major step backward. The old bottles had measurement markings, so you could make a consistent drink every time. The new bottles expect customers to "eyeball it," which means you either under-pour and get weak flavor or over-pour and waste syrup. For a product that's supposed to deliver consistency, removing the measuring system makes no sense. What's even more frustrating is that the syrup doesn't appear to be concentrated enough to justify the new bottle design. I still had an old bottle and did a side-by-side test, using the equivalent measured amount from the old bottle versus the new one. The result was obvious: the new formula produced a noticeably weaker drink. To make matters worse, many of the classic flavors are gone from the new bottle choices, and some of the replacement flavors don't even taste the same as the originals. Even tasting the syrups before dilution, the flavor profiles are clearly different. SodaStream seems to have solved a problem that didn't exist. They removed the measuring feature, changed or eliminated popular flavors, and delivered a product that appears weaker and less consistent. The old bottles were simple, accurate, and worked well. The new system feels like a downgrade in almost every way. Bring back the measuring cap, bring back the original flavors, and stop telling customers to "eyeball" a product that's supposed to be measured.
